familyman Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 :D Whats the story with diesel dye as advertised on a well known internet auction site -converts red diesel to blue -just how dodgy is this stuff ? what would customs and excise have to say about it ? Quote
morticiaskeeper Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Two rules in life, pay your doctor and your taxman. I Used to work for a shipping agent, C & E are the law, if they say jump, every other agency, including Police ask how high. It's not worth the risk Quote
widu13 Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 It works and works well...but; it does not remove the chemical marker put in red diesel. If found with illicit fuel in your motor you risk the confiscation of it. C & E have wide ranging powers, including entry and search to non dwellings without a warrant. You have been warned! Quote
AndeeeH Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Having witnessed the C&E going through a lorry park with dipsticks and testing kits I would steer well clear.... Andy. Quote
Justice Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 The chances of you getting nicked for using red is very very slim but ! there is a chance, you have to weigh up is it worth loosing your car (at worst) for the sake of saving money. Myself I would'nt take the risk , plus the fact my VR6 don't like diesel <_< . Quote
Masked Marauder Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 plus the fact my VR6 don't like diesel <_< . Once upon a time I had some 1200 litres of pink petrol stashed away in strategic points in 20 litre metal cans for rapid recovery when required.... Quote
familyman Posted March 29, 2006 Author Report Posted March 29, 2006 <_< Thanks for replies everyone - looks like it's back to paying through the nose ! Quote
